MY ROLE

Lead Programmer

DESCRIPTION

Symphonica is a narrative-centered side-scrolling 2D puzzle platformer that will task players to experiment with sound-based mechanics to progress through uniquely surreal environments. Set in a fantasy world, the story will revolve around a teenage girl by the name of Octave and her metaphoric journey in processing and navigating through trauma in the form of a lost childhood friend by the name of Viola.

Worked on for about 2 and a half months during my degree.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES

I helped out on this project during pre-production as the lead programmer. My role and responsibilities included:

  • Used Unity C# to script all the gameplay mechanics

  • Added and coded all the animations into Unity

  • Polished the gameplay to a playable state.

  • Worked closely with the art team to implement all the sprites of the characters and to make the animations fluid

  • Did a lot of playtesting and iterating, implementing feedback and problem solving.
